Yes.

So it’s not a big deal, but I just learned about Reasons To Be Cheerful, a non-profit editorial project that is "atonic for tumultuous times”. Which is pretty much exactly the point of this newsletter.

Which wouldn’t really interest me normally, because it’s a big internet and such. But this one is founded by DAVID BYRNE the Talking Head*. So I guess technically he and I had the same idea.

I think this might be the only time that will ever happen for me. To celebrate, here’s a site that displays a different one of Davo Byrne’s Oblique Strategies at the click of the mouse. One just now for me said Be Extravagant. Way ahead of you, bud.

*I’ve never seen a photo of him so I assume he’s just a giant talking head.

Meet Phil!

I am an American from Ohio, but I live in Mali, where I run a few projects with friends. One of them is a website where people can send a postcard from Timbuktu with a handwritten message written by an out of work tourist guide. The other is a hostel and restaurant and a tour agency called Scoot West Africa. We run small group scooter trips down the coast of West Africa. My wife is Malian and we have a son here in Bamako.
